In the framework of eco-Connect, the company has presented the European Developer Enablement Plan, showing its commitment to European developers.

Huawei held the Huawei eco-Connect 2016 congress in Paris, which was attended by 80 partners and more than 1,000 attendees. During the event, the company announced the construction of three cloud environments in Europe, aimed at operators, industries and consumers, part of its European Developer Enablement Plan, which also reaffirms its commitment to increase investment in developers and build an ecosystem based on openness, collaboration and shared success.

"Over the last ten years, we have strived to create value for our customers in Europe and, for the next ten years, we expect much closer cooperation with our partners and accelerate the development of ICT in Europe, allowing European customers get more business success, "said Vincent Pang, president of Huawei in Western Europe.

In addition, Pang has made known the European Developer Enablement Plan, which consists of three parts, a platform for ICT experts, another for joint development and a final marketing, and which aims to provide European developers with the tools and capabilities of Huawei necessary for software development, as well as offering them marketing opportunities.

"Our idea is to invest an additional 75 million euros by 2020 to create three Open Labs in the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy, supporting between fifty and one hundred thousand developers," confirmed Pang.

In direct relation with the cloud strategy that the firm made public in the last edition of its Connect held in Shanghai in September, the Chinese multinational has also announced plans to establish remote laboratories in Munich, Frankfurt and Dublin, in order to facilitate European developers access to joint innovation laboratories.

For Muriel Barnéoud, vice president of Syntec Numerique and CEO of Docapost, "we are delighted that Huawei eco-Connect Europe 2016 was held in Paris to explore the future of the industry. We hope this is the first of new steps to build a more collaborative and prosperous ICT ecosystem in Europe. In this sense, France is ready as it has all the necessary assets and a rich ecosystem that brings together all that Syntec Numérique encompasses: leading players in the sector, SMEs and startups ".

With respect to the three cloud ecosystems whose creation Huawei has announced, the company has committed, in relation to the operators, to create a content platform together with its 500 partners, which will bring content providers and operators closer together. In the case of vertical industries, the cloud environment aimed at companies will be the key to the development and success of customers. Finally, regarding the consumer, Huawei also promises end users a new generation cloud experience.

In addition, during the Huawei ecoConnect Europe, the company has deepened on topics such as cloud transformation, software defined networks (SDN), virtualization of network functions (NFV), narrow band of the Internet of Things (NB-IoT), Smart Home, supercomputing (HPC), agile networks and the Huawei Developer Zone.

Europe has traditionally been an important market for Huawei, where most of its 26 specialized centers are located throughout the world. The company has created more than 18 R & D centers in Europe, covering fields such as mathematics, aesthetics, microwaves, chips and wireless technologies.

In addition, last year it inaugurated its European Research Institute to coordinate and supervise the activities of R & D facilities in Europe. In parallel, it has invested 75 million euros in its collaborations with more than 100 universities and research institutes, actively participating in the EU's Horizon 2020 program, and signing more than 210 technology partnership agreements.
