Use of cloud solutions would grow up to 70% in the next 3 years

In Peru, the sectors that have more quickly adopted services in the cloud are Services, Retail, Industry and Manufacturing.

Telefónica Grandes Empresas (TGE) projects that the use of solutions "in the cloud" or cloud would grow by 70% over the next 3 years for medium and large companies (B2B) operating in Peru.

"We are in the moment of a digital revolution and Peruvian companies require specialized and managed services in cloud-like environments, which provide efficient, flexible, tailored and easy-to-serve environments," said Víctor Valle Meléndez, Solutions Leader Cloud, Data Center and TGE Outsourcing.

The value proposition of these solutions incorporates the concept of "pay per use", since no large initial investments are required to be implemented.

In Peru and Latin America, the first "cloud" service adopted by companies is based mainly on e-mail, which will become a standard service over time.

In contrast, TGE is working on a model of "infrastructure as a service" or IaaS for its acronym in English, called Cloud 3.0. With this it will provide all the necessary tools and services to be able to support the business applications of its clients.

"In this way, we fulfill the objective of offering tailor-made solutions in the different business sectors," said Valle. Cloud 3.0 will be available by the end of the year throughout Latin America, in those countries where Telefónica offers Enterprise Data Center solutions.

In the country, the sectors that most use "cloud" solutions are the Services, Retail, Industry and Manufacturing companies, but public institutions are gradually requiring these same solutions.

"We believe that all companies, both public and private, can benefit from this service model and start with a basic requirement to progressively grow along with their needs in a mixed environment, complementing traditional physical resources with services" in the cloud ", he added. Valley.

The executive concluded by stating that with such a service it will no longer be necessary to invest in the acquisition of hardware and software, or in a systems area that supports this infrastructure, but will be able to manage them and will become an area of Information Technology for the business.
