Seven out of ten companies use cloud in the region

Although there is a greater adoption is not yet taking full advantage of these technologies.

Seven out of ten organizations in the region have already adopted a product or service in the cloud (cloud computing), but the vast majority still does not take full advantage of this technology, according to the latest study prepared by IDC for Cisco.

The aforementioned study reveals that the rate of increase in adoption of cloud solutions in the region is higher than the world average, but there is still a lot of room to advance.

According to Cisco only 2% of the organizations that have implemented the cloud make the most of it and manage to increase their income. The study establishes that the majority of companies of this group obtain up to US $ 3 million of extra income as a result of the sale of new products and services, the possibility of winning new customers more quickly, as well as sales in new markets.

The report concludes that, not only in the region but at a global level, there are few organizations that are maximizing the value that the cloud can offer them: 69% do not have mature implementation strategies.

They also stated that organizations face a considerable number of obstacles to achieve greater maturity in the cloud. Among these drawbacks are the gaps in skills and abilities, the lack of well-defined strategies and the absence of an action plan, traditional structures closed in organizations and the lack of alignment between the technology areas and business lines or objectives.
