Telefonica bases its Living Cloud proposal on Oracle

The new platform as a service of Telefónica based on Oracle allows large companies to digitize their processes in the Alcalá Data Center with the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

Telefónica already has a platform-as-a-service (PaaS) solution based on Oracle technology and designed so that large companies can deploy their systems, databases and business applications in the Telefónica cloud, without initial investments and with high standards of security.

With this solution, Oracle technology is incorporated into Telefónica's Living Cloud, a proposal that aims to help large Spanish companies to carry out their digital transformation through cloud services.

The migration of business processes to the cloud is essential to achieve digitalization and the PaaS are an essential part to achieve this, as they provide companies with the flexibility to adapt to the changing nature of the market

For the telco, the migration of business processes to the cloud is essential to "achieve digitalization and platforms as a service (PaaS) are a fundamental part of achieving this, since they provide companies with the flexibility to adapt to the changing nature of the market. "

Oracle's new solution-based service is housed in Telefónica's Alcalá Data Center, the only managed data center in Spain for non-private use with TIER IV Gold certification, which guarantees companies a high level of safety and efficiency for the operation of its processes.

This solution allows companies to evolve their systems without the need for investments, with all the advantages of a cloud service, such as scalability; that is, the ability to expand or reduce service provision according to business needs; in a form of pay-per-use service, which allows companies to delegate the management of the infrastructure -as well as the expense associated with it-, to focus on the development of their main business, with the option of also having the Oracle database in managed service mode.

This service allows to rationalize and ensure the licensing of the systems and facilitates the implementation of disaster recovery solutions, replicating the corporate information in the cloud so that, in the event of a contingency in the systems of a company, ensuring continuity of the business to host that information replicated in another data center within Spain.

Living Cloud is Telefónica's proposal to globally promote the digital transformation of large Spanish companies and help them adapt to the new market context. It contemplates four stages in the transformation of organizations: evaluation of the company's situation, establishment of development objectives, preparation of a specific road map for each organization and selection of specific tools according to needs.

This proposal covers three elements, which are considered key to start the transformation in a company: communications, processes and job, all hosted in the cloud with the best fixed and mobile connectivity.

Within the part of processes in the cloud, platforms as a service (PaaS) are one of the main pillars for the transformation, to which Oracle technology is now added as a key for the deployment of business applications in the cloud.
